We really enjoyed our stay at the mooring near Bergsoya, chasing the nice weather though we decided to head a little further North. We are now at the longest day and so for most the days will get shorter now, for us as we move further north the days might even get longer for a short time. The plan is at the moment to spend the winter further north than where we are now, so we are edging our way up the coast, short and longer journeys depending on where we find and what the weather allows.

The KNBF buoys have been nice stopping places, requiring less thought than anchoring, but there is now quite a gap between buoys so for the next while we will either be at anchor or at pontoons.
We let go of the mooring just after midday and gave our Volvo engine a quick blast, checking that the water pump was working sufficiently. Interesting to be doing planing speeds again!! Having checked it over we returned to our outboard set up and carried on. Looking on the chart we found an area that looked like a nice anchorage about 21miles away and motored towards it, in the relative shelter of the surrounding islands. Its amazing how at displacement speeds having a current against you is a real pest where when planing you don't even notice.

We are now at anchor near Vaagland, Halsa where we will likely stay for a night or two appreciating the warm and calm weather. It is strange to be anchored again and aware of every rumble and movement. Having just had dinner we might go for a row in the dinghy or a walk ashore, tomorrow perhaps heading to the closest shop to stock up.
