Food for thought

Our little barn sale raised a few pounds for charity through selling some bit and bobs and the home made Calzone/veggie burgers.
Not a bad turn out for an island with a population of 70!

Weather or not to get some work done!

Whilst the weather might not make us feel summer is just round the corner the start of our adventure isn't far away. In many ways the work on the RIB and all other associated preparations are also part of our adventure.... Just less fun!
We have also moved house yesterday so that has taken quite an effort too and has kept us busy away from the boat.

A week or so ago on a rare fine day, we removed the barn doors to allow Quickstep to be moved forward to allow work to commerce. Since then we haven't really had very nice working weather at all!

We have removed the old outboard bracket to act as a template for a new one and Paul has made a chain locker and the wheel house floor/ locker.

Our new Wallas heater has arrived and we hope to get that fitted next week.
This Saturday we are having a barn sale and are making Burgers and Calzones to help raise money for the charities... Watch the blog for updates!

Quick Update

Its been a while since we have updated you and a busy few weeks, whilst we feel like we haven't been on the boat for a while we are ticking off a few things on the list.

We were south on a boat related mission taking us from one end of the country to the other! Picking up and dropping off a variety of things,  We were very pleased to pick up our Pains Wessex  flares, they now await to be placed in a prominent and accessible position aboard.

It was a pleasure also to do business with Mackay Marine in Aberdeen who gave us a very good deal and have certainly helped our adventure come to fruition.

It was also great to get a chance to visit our third crew member from last years Arctic Adventure Daniel and family. We are so pleased to see the improvements in his health over the year.

Since returning we have a few more local sponsors, Orkney Factors and J.C Tullochs have kindly helped us keep on route to our adventure.

We have now got the stainless steel cut for the bow plate which we hope will make a huge difference when anchoring, thanks David for your help!
