Leaving Shetland

After a night in yell with assistance from Daniel E wife Wendy we had a new weather window. Leaving that evening we would in theory have a fairly calm crossing. As with everywhere we had been we were overwhelmed by the kindness and friendliness of everyone we had met, more advice from locals on weather and surrounding seas helped us plan our passage. We were touched that one local came down with a donation to our cause from his mother. Also being invited to a community bbq in the evening left us feeling very welcome.
As always we left the marina with a plan of a stop before leaving Shetland waters, this being unst. Coming out in to the north atlantic we made the decision based on the relative calmness to carry on nosing out and aim for Norway. A unanimous decision we had no one to blame if we had to turn back.
