Færøy

We are still in Færøy, in the Solund Kommune.
Looking over the main settlement, just a short walk from where we are
We are attempting to shelter out a storm, whilst we are better than being at anchor we hadn't realised to what extent the swell would come in the opening. So we have tied off the pontoon slightly and waiting it out. Locals headed off on their boats yesterday to catch some fish, with the force 9 winds we stayed put, I'm afraid our dedication at this point is a little lower!!
Bigger than Papays pier hut!!
This week according to the forecast is going to be a long windy one. With winds only briefly to drop below force 7 we likely won't be making much progress north, although if weather does allow we will attempt to move slightly further north where there might be more shelter from the Southernly winds.
Nearly two years ago we stood in this exact spot!
Time spent mostly aboard has given us time to dry out the remaining stores, salt water is a nightmare it hangs around keeping things damp forever, and rusting metal. So having wiped down every last tin, every packet and box we hope not to have that problem again!! We have several tins of food aboard, from beans to rice pudding, over the time we have attempted to write what they are on them, in case they lose their label, with all labels gone the rest is down to pot luck now!! Custard with fish whilst not traditional might be the way of things for a wee while!!
Chair carved from a tree trunk
Today is meant to mark the end of the force 9s so hopefully we will be able to get out and about a bit easier over the next few days.
Steep rocky escarpments boarder the fields.
For now we are sitting aboard with the heater on, happy to be in Norway!
Daffodils, must still be spring!
