Preparations underway...

Its a great feeling to get under way with some of the changes and improvements on Quickstep, the 29 day adventure last year was a great shake down cruise for this years adventure!! We learnt what we could improve on and what worked well.
One of the top things on our list to adapt was the way the anchor and chain cleared the tubes. Whilst the tubes would likely take an occasional anchoring, continued chafing from the chain and knocks from the anchor are far from ideal. So Paul has set about making some plans and a template of a bow plate to be sent to a local firm for fabrication in stainless steel.
One of the many advantages of this will be that the anchor will be able to stay on the bow all the time, increasing safety and saving space below.
