We left quickstep for a week as we travelled abroad, and now for the fist time since arriving in Norway, quickstep is shorthanded! Amanda being in Orkney and Daniel aboard.
The weather thankfully for our time when quickstep was not under command was very calm and reasonably mild. No snow at all.
Now after a few days of rain, the temperatures are several degrees below zero and snow again blankets the hill and roads. The snow is keeping Daniel busy with clearing the boat, shovelling every few hours.
Making the most of the longer days Daniel went on a circular walk. Very lovely but a little further than expected. 50 km to be exact... Next time check the map first!
Having the cover up has been very useful, not only to save snow /ice removal, but also to enable maintenance works to be undertaken... Although it is still as cold as outside and harsh on exposed fingers!

Shadows in the sunlight
Hagan is neatly tucked in between surrounding hills, which offers great protection from the wind but also hides us from the sun! So while the boat hasn't yet been hit by the suns rays, we could see them reflecting off the windows on the houses in the Village. Its been as low as -7C at the boat so we were easily tempted to quick march up the road and feel the suns warmth on our faces! Its been a while! So for the first time in months we had some natural shadows stretching across the snowy mounds in the quiet neighbourhood, makes a change for the street lights to be off during the day and replaced by the big orangey ball in the sky!
